This has absolutely nothing to do with comics, but it is so much fun to watch, I couldn't avoid posting it. This video is courtesy of The Big Lead, a great sports blog if you aren't already aware of it. The boy in the video is 8 year Cody Paul and his team the Los Alamitos Griffins went 15-0 this year on the way to the Pee-Wee Pop Warner Super Bowl Championship. This kid is crazy good. The Music playing is "Make It Rain" by Fat Joe and Lil Wayne and it is NSFW.
This is a trailer, taken in a dark theater with a handheld camera, of the Cloverfield trailer that was shown with the Transformers premieres. There was a good quality version on Youtube for awhile, but Paramount has taken it down.
Here's what is known about it:
It is directed by JJ Abrams, who is currently best known for doing Lost. He is also slated to direct the next Star Trek movie, and to tie this into comics in some convoluted way, he is also rumored to be doing an adaptation of Stephen King's Dark Tower novels, which have already been made into a comic book series.
It is going to be released 1-18-08, or at least that is what everyone assumes from this website, which is the only official anything put out so far.
From the looks of it, it is in the same style as a classic monster movie. Godzilla was a flop and killed the genre, but hopefully they are making an attempt to revive it, and I can think of few who could do that but JJ Abrams is one of them.
The monster is called The Parasite, according to imdb.com, who attacks New York City. The entire movie is supposed to be shot with home movie cameras to give it a very terrifying real feel.
Via Superhero Hype, the latest Transformers video spot, and I would have to agree this is one of the best ones I have seen yet. July 2nd and Megan Fox can't get here fast enough for me.
Slow comic book day, especially since I am putting off reviewing anything, so I have a couple more movie trailers for you. The first is from "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry". The second one is just a random video of a comic book store. Don't bother watching it, especially if you are at work.
Ok, time to go read those comics again, unless something huge happens, I'll see you tomorrow.
Boy there sure are a lot of these nowadays, but people seem to like them. This is a fairly short one. I gotta be honest though, I have been watching these for months now and I am still blown away everytime I see one of them transform and hear that sound.
The Transformers: The Movie game comes out on 6/26/07 and looks pretty good. Unfortunately all movie games look cool until they are actually being played, but maybe, just maybe, this one will be different. It will be released on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and DS. For more info, go to Gamestop.
I watched this awhile ago and had all but forgotten about it. If you haven't seen "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" before, the language is pretty sketchy and very NSFW, but it is absolutely hilarious. My mom, who is absolutely devoid of a sense of humor, was nearly in tears after watching it.
I know this isn't brand new, but with World War Hulk #1 coming out next Wednesday, it is an appropriate time to post it. Marvel did an awesome job here putting together what amounts to a movie trailer out of scenes from the Incredible Hulk comic. When I first heard of it, I assume they would do some cool animation or something, then it started and it was just pages of the comic with a voice over. By the end of it, I have never been so excited for a comic book crossover as I am now.
Also check out Marvel.com's World War Hulk hub for all the info you could need about what is upcoming for the Green Goliath and his warbound.
If you haven't kept up with the Hulk and want to catch up on what is going on before the Hulk kicks your favorite hero's ass, go to IGN Comics fand their World War Hulk Event Guide for some rather in-depth information on how we got to where we are with the Hulk surfing a space ship right for Earth.
Over at Marvel.com, they have an article detailing the history of the Fantasticar that is a fun read if you have ever been a fan of the Fantastic Four. The new version is the star of a new commercial by Dodge, and oh yeah, it's got a Hemi. (God, I hate that crap from Dodge. I smoked a new Charger the other day in my mom's 2001 Mercury Mystique with a V6, and I had my kids in the back weighing me down. But that's neither here nor there.) This thing looks simply awesome.
Me personally, I preferred the bath tub versions, just because it showed the ingenuity of Reed Richards that he could make something as unwieldy as a bathtub-shaped craft actually fly. This thing though can reach speeds of 550 mph and altitudes of 30,000 feet, so I guess it'll do as a suitable replacement.
If you want one for yourself, your out of luck because, well... cars can't fly. But you can get a scale model for all your 5" action figures to cruise for chicks in at Ebay. No that's not my auction, I wouldn't sink that low (honestly though, I can't find one of these in the stores, and I wouldn't sell it if I did).
Also, on a side note, I refuse to post pictures of half naked women in every post, and just because this is a post about the Fantastic Four doesn't mean I have to postpictures of JessicaAlba. God, you bunch of perverts, wanna make this blog totally NSFW!
New Fantastic Four 2 trailer shown last night on "So You Think You Can Dance". Some good stuff in here, including scenes of each of the Four taking on Johnny's powers.
